Our Story
Hi, I’m Mike—thanks for visiting my website!
I’ve been a lifelong sports fan and have played many sports at some point in my life. My love for sports caps started during our family summer vacations. My dad used to pull our little camper with his old station wagon as we traveled across the U.S. No matter where we went, my parents loved taking the family to local ballparks. Outside the stadiums, vendors sold plastic helmets featuring the home team and sometimes the visiting teams. I thought they were so cool, and I loved wearing them during neighborhood pick-up games.
In just a few years, I collected helmets for every major team. We visited about half the stadiums, but I eventually bought the rest to complete my collection. I still have most of them today, though the designs have changed over time.
Fast forward through high school, college, marriage, raising a son, and a 40-year career. My job gave me the chance to travel across the U.S. and around the world, attending countless sporting events along the way. Living in the northern suburbs, I became a huge fan of my hometown teams. Over time, I added caps from other cities, golf courses, companies, and even some funny or witty ones to my collection.
A few years ago, I had a lightbulb moment—literally! I was in my garage (with a beverage) getting ready to watch a game. The heat was on, and I was sitting near my smoker, which has a big logo sticker of my favorite team. As the national anthem played and the TV cameras panned to fans in the crowd, I noticed it was hard to tell which team’s caps they were wearing because of the low lighting.
I glanced at the logo on my smoker, illuminated by my garage light, and suddenly—BAM! It hit me. What if a sports cap could light up during low-light settings like a game, bar, or concert? By day, it would look like a regular cap, but at night, you could switch on the light, and everyone would instantly know your team.
That idea stuck with me. After patent searches, securing a patent, and researching components and manufacturing, the dream became a reality. And here I am—thank you for being part of this journey. There’s more to come!
